Christmas in Germany was what I would describe as pure magic.  Our last wonderful day there was spent in Salzburg.

I’ve been meaning to blog this beautiful family for a long time, and going through each of them now, it feels like such a joy to revisit the day that we spent together.

About 7 months ago, I received an email from a lovely Mama, (who is herself, an amazing and talented photographer}. My first instinct was to say no, and that’s exactly what I did.  I hadn’t shot a photo session for anyone other than my own family in forever, and since I’m not in business, you could argue that it’s something that I’ve never actually attempted before at all.   Just the thought of somebody entrusting me to capture their precious family images sent me into a blind panic. I responded to the email and suggested that they go and book somebody else, somebody who captured families for a living, somebody predictable and dependable.  But my scardy-cat-ness didn’t put them off in the least, and the answer that I received was just so touching that I felt so completely pulled towards this sweet family, as though it was meant to be.

I spent a good few hours with them, just capturing them all together, and by the end of the day I almost didn’t want to leave. There is a closeness and sweetness to the three of them that I think you can feel through these images and this little family completely melted my heart.

I have nothing but gratitude to this lovely family for trusting me to capture them, it was a day that I’ll never forget. <3
