since i know i am not ever going to get you down here to the south i am going to beg my husband and pray that one day i can get up there to you for imeags of my own kids like this . seriously all of the little details the feet, thumb sucking, sisterly love. those little details are the things i am going to miss the most about my children when they have grown. you are a master at the little details steph.

Emma, your images never fails to please my eyes. Your words are simple but so true. I think one of the hardest things being a mom is watching our kids grow too fast. And the wonderful thing to watch is the “i-can-do-this-by-myself” attitude while still clinging to their childhood.

Oh these photographs Emma… out of this world. Her long plaits as she skips down the path.. such an image of childhood. Her cheeks still tell me she is a baby girl.. and I can imagine her talking in her sweet voice .. i hope you are recording it. I know you are cherishing those nightly snuggles with your littlest. You all make such gorgeous babies.. perhaps one more..just one more.

emma, i read the letter first this month. and was so happy i got to spend a little time imagining those words coming from a four year old. i LOVE this kind of child. always at the fence, gazing over to something new. my own almost three year old just asked me for a hexagon cake with “Mad Men”. so yes…and your pictures, your otherworldly portraits just stop me. they almost stop the world. they are that moving and lovely. some people get lucky with a beautiful house, and you wonder what they would do with a trickier one. you have a beautiful WORLD, and it is perfectly matched with the one you create. i adore you.
